Propell Marine Extended is a mechanical breakdown and extended warranty product for recreational marine engines, outboard motors, jet skis, and inboard/sterndrive engines. It covers the cost of repairing or replacing covered components that break down after your manufacturer's warranty expires.
For new units, cover starts when the manufacturer's warranty expires or the date shown on your Product Schedule. For pre-owned units, cover starts from the inception date on your Product Schedule. A 30-day waiting period may apply from inception.
Pre-owned units must generally be less than 10 years old at inception and have a verifiable service history. The unit must also comply with reasonable operating hour requirements set by the Administrator.
Yes! The warranty is transferable to the new owner, subject to written notification to the Administrator within 30 days of transfer and payment of a R150 transfer fee. No transfer is possible if a claim has already been processed.
Commercial use — including rental, charter (over 100 hours/year), guiding, and instructional use — is excluded from standard cover. A separate commercial category is available for new motors. Please contact us for details.
Yes. Services must be completed at least every 12 months or 100 operating hours (whichever comes first), at an authorised dealer or approved marine workshop. You must retain all service records and invoices.
Stop operating the unit immediately and contact the Administrator as soon as possible. Do NOT authorise any repairs until you receive written authorisation from us. Unauthorized repairs may invalidate your claim.
No. Corrosion, galvanic action, electrolysis, saltwater deterioration, and environmental exposure are excluded. These are considered normal risks associated with marine use rather than mechanical breakdown.
No. Any form of racing, speed testing, tournament competition or performance events is excluded from cover.
Cover applies in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini, and Mozambique, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
